Is Yoghurt Run safe for infants and toddlers to consume?

Yoghurt is not recommended for infants during the early weaning period (before 6 months of age).
Six months corresponds to the middle stage of weaning, when it is recommended to increase the variety and quantity of weaning foods.

Probiotic yogurt contains lactase, an enzyme that breaks down lactose and improves digestibility for infants.
However, larger molecular nutrients like proteins may still be difficult to digest, so it is recommended to limit intake to half a bottle per day.

At 12 months, weaning is complete, and infants can start eating adults foods.

However, check for milk allergies or other conditions and consider the infant’s weaning characteristics and health status, before incorporating yoghurt.
